The UEFA Champions League already has its two finalists. Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal will compete for the European title on Saturday, May 30 at the Puskás Arena in Budapest, Hungary, in what promises to be one of the most attractive duels in recent years in continental football.
Luis Enrique’s PSG will seek to defend the title they won last season while Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal will play in their second European final in the club’s history, the first since losing to Barcelona in Paris in 2006.
The match will have an important novelty compared to previous editions. UEFA decided to advance the schedule and will start at 10 a.m. in Guatemala which makes it the second earliest final in the history of the Champions League, only surpassed by that of 1963. UEFA’s objective is to improve logistics for spectators traveling to Budapest. The Puskás Arena, opened in 2019 on top of the former Hungarian national stadium, has capacity for 67,000 spectators.
Arsenal reached the final after eliminating Atlético de Madrid 2-1 on aggregate in the semifinals, with a decisive goal from Bukayo Saka at the Emirates Stadium that gave them the ticket to Budapest. PSG, for its part, beat Bayern Munich 6-5 on aggregate in a tie full of goals and emotions, holding on at the Allianz Arena with a 1-1 draw that was enough to advance.

The history between both
In their five previous matches in the Champions League, PSG has two wins and two draws while Arsenal has only achieved one victory, which gives a slight historical advantage to the Parisians heading into the duel in Budapest. However, in a final any statistics take a backseat and the Gunners arrive with the confidence of having been the only undefeated team in the group stage in this edition of the tournament.
