The publication of the drug trafficker’s most recent letter occurred after a judge rejected Guzmán’s request to be extradited to Mexico, considering that his arguments “they were meaningless” and had “no legal validity.”

“I thank the courts for accepting this letter in defense of my impartiality to seek another verdict on the evidence that was not conclusive,” said Guzmán.

In 2019, Guzmán was found guilty of 10 drug trafficking crimes and sentenced to life sentence in the ADX Florence maximum security prison, in Colorado.
