Antigua Guatemala seeks to decentralize tourism and take visitors from the colonial city center to explore the towns that surround it. With the so-called Charming walksattendees will be able to discover new spaces full of art, culture, gastronomy and traditions.
For this May 10, the village of Santa Catarina Bobadilla will be the meeting point for the celebration of Mother’s Day, with typical dishes, Guatemalan crafts and sweets.
This activity will feature local talent, offering gastronomy, crafts and live music, reflecting the village’s culture. In addition, visitors will be able to learn more about the history of this place, founded at the end of the 16th century and which has maintained its colonial charm.
According to data from the Municipality, Santa Catarina Bobadilla has become the center of production of typical sweets and is recognized for housing Jesús Nazareno de la Salvación.
This space, ideal for celebrating Mother’s Day with the family, will have free round-trip transportation for national and foreign tourists who wish to travel from the center of Antigua Guatemala to the village. There will also be live music by the marimba Sonora Carolina, according to the Municipality of Antigua Guatemala.
