Recognized internationally for her talent, voice and message in each song, Guatemalan singer Sara Curruchich surprised her followers by announcing a new single that she will perform with the Colombian band Aterciopelados.
After a series of international concerts, the artist originally from San Juan Comalapa, Chimaltenango, will give her audience a new song that, as she highlighted, “will continue to name” and will allow “to continue singing to be able to hug.”
The announcement was made by the artist through her social networks, where she detailed that the song will be available on various platforms on May 15. In addition, he highlighted the admiration he feels for the Colombian group, which he described as a group that he admires “deeply.”
On his social networks he also highlighted that there are songs that are “woven”, that lead people to share strength and offer “a hug to the soul”, sensations that, he assured, Aterciopelados transmits to him.
Although the artist did not reveal the name of the single, she stressed that it was an “honor, joy and inspiration” to work with the band.
Coming from a Kaqchikel community in the central Guatemalan highlands, Sara Curruchich has brought the music and voice of indigenous women to international stages, which has given her recognition throughout her career.
He has used his voice to transmit the collective and individual feelings of the people, as well as history, memory, culture, languages and struggles, combined with a personal claim.
