Demonstration prevents passage at km 189 of the Cito-Zarco Route between Retalhuleu and Quetzaltenango

Provial reported that this Monday, May 11, a blockage was recorded at kilometer 189 of the Cito-Zarco route, between Retalhuleu and Quetzaltenango.

He added that the demonstration began at 2:23 a.m. this Monday, in the San Felipe, Retalhuleu section.

The protesters placed branches and other obstacles to prevent the passage of vehicles in both directions of the road.

According to local media, a group of residents are protesting to demand the presence of authorities from the Retalhuleu Government for the alleged failure to comply with agreements acquired with some communities.

Long lines of vehicles formed at the site and it is unknown what time the passage will be enabled.
