The Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) of Mixco reported that this Monday, May 18, a motorist died in an accident at kilometer 16 of the Inter-American route.

He added that the body was left on the left lane heading towards the Roosevelt road, while the motorcycle remained in the opposite lane, heading towards San Lucas Sacatepéquez.

He indicated that the Public Ministry is on site to carry out the corresponding procedures.

Mynor Espinoza, spokesperson for the Mixco commune, indicated that, due to what happened, traffic is complicated on the Inter-American route and in some sectors of that municipality.

As alternative routes, he suggested San Cristóbal Boulevard, which already registers high vehicle load.

He also recommended Santo Domingo Xenacoj to reach San Juan Sacatepéquez or San Pedro Sacatepéquez. In addition, the La Comunidad neighborhood, in zone 10 of Mixco, as an alternative route to zone 11.

In addition, another motorcyclist accident was reported at kilometer 18.5 of the Inter-American route, heading to San Lucas Sacatepéquez.

The PMT of the capital reported that a road accident affects the exit of the Atlántida viaduct, on the route to the Atlantic, kilometer 4.5, zone 18.

What happened affects traffic towards the José Milla road. According to the PMT, there are no injuries and maneuvers have already begun to relocate the vehicles involved to the nearest road bay.

Mynor Espinoza added that in the 6th. avenue and 25 street, zone 1 of Mixco, on the boulevard towards Ciudad Satélite, they located the body of a person wrapped in sheets, which also complicates mobility.
