William Jehú Fajardo did not hide his emotion when talking about his recent call-up to the Guatemala National Team. The striker, a recent signing from Antigua GFC, was included by Luis Fernando Tena in the group of players who this week began the preparation work of the Bicolor for the FIFA Date in June. “We all dream of being here, the road has not been easy”said the attacker.
Fajardo also told how he received the news of his call. “They wrote to me, I was excited, I am very happy for my call,” said the forward, who assured that the call is the result of the work done during the tournament with the Mictlán team, with which he consolidated himself as the national scorer of Clausura 2026. “Thank God I was able to have a good tournament,” he added.
The attacker acknowledged that now his challenge will be to maintain the level in Antigua GFC to continue being taken into account by the Tena coaching staff. “I hope I can do well in my new club so I can continue being in the national team,” he commented.
Regarding his objectives with Bicolor, Fajardo was clear and ambitious. “Personally, I want to score goals and help build the path to the next World Cup,” said the forward, excited to consolidate himself in the Guatemalan team.
