Netflix announced that The K-pop Warriors It would have a sequel and will bring back characters like Rumi, Mira and Zoey on a new adventure. The film, which became a phenomenon, was not only the most viewed on the platform, but also won several awards, including the Oscar for Best Animated Film.
This story, which gave the public hits like GoldenGrammy winner, will return with new music and plot. Netflix highlighted that Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans will return to direct the sequel, which will be the product of an exclusive collaboration between Netflix, Kang and Appelhans, from which new animated films will emerge.
The writers highlighted to Netflix Tudum that they are excited to write the next chapter and see the evolution of their characters. Although the sequel was announced in 2026, it could arrive until 2029. According to Varietythe premiere will be part of the agreement closed between Netflix and Sony.
Variety highlights that making an animated film can take time due to its production, but it could arrive sooner than estimated. Although Netflix has not given any indication of when the saga’s release date would be or what this second installment would be about, it did state that the film is in the works.
For her part, Maggie Kang, co-director of K-pop Demon Huntershighlighted Variety which left several spaces to develop backstories, while there are questions that were not answered and that could be explored in the plot of the saga.

The K-pop Guerreras tour
Netflix also recently surprised its audience by announcing a world concert tour for 2027, aimed at fans of K-pop Demon Hunters. This tour aims to visit at least 15 cities in the world.
So far, Netflix has not revealed the list of countries that this tour will reach or its cast, although it has enabled the portal where it will provide information.
