Guatemala national team begins training for June friendlies with ten summoned

The Guatemala National Team began training this week for the June FIFA Matchday under the direction of Luis Fernando Tena at the High Performance Center. The Mexican coach called ten players for this first microcycle of work.

Antigua GFC is the most represented club on the roster with six players after being eliminated in the quarterfinals of Clausura 2026. Among the main new additions are the young legionnaire Arián Recinos, from the UNH Wildcats of the United States, and William Jehú Fajardo, recent signing of the colonials and former player from Mictlán.

The call also includes Kevin Ramírez from Deportivo Malacateco, Marcelo Hernández from Club Sport Cartaginés and José Carlos Pinto as the only call-up from Comunicaciones FC. The Municipal and Xelajú MC players will join until May 24, once the series for the Clausura 2026 title ends.

The Bicolor will face the Czech Republic on June 4 and Ecuador on the 7th, all matches on US soil. Guatemala will seek to add its first victory of the year after the defeats suffered against Canada and Algeria in their previous friendlies.
