Due to an excuse presented by Antonio Coro, former mayor of Santa Catarina Pinula, Judge Víctor Cruz postponed the hearing scheduled for this Thursday, May 21, for the Cambray case.

The First Chamber of the Court of Appeals resolved that the former mayors of that municipality, Antonio Coro and Víctor Alvarizaes, face trial for manslaughter and, alternatively, for breach of duty.

In the hearing scheduled for this Thursday, the tenth criminal judge Víctor Cruz had to comply with the order of the Chamber and send both former officials to trial.

However, the judge accepted the excuse presented by Coro and rescheduled the hearing for June 11, at 2 p.m. The judiciary did not specify the reason for the excuse presented by Coro.

On May 7 just past, the hearing was also suspended due to Coro’s non-appearance; However, outside the courthouse his presence with his defense attorney was documented.

In 2022, both former officials benefited from a resolution by Judge Víctor Cruz, but the Public Ministry appealed and the First Chamber of the Court of Appeals ruled that they face trial.
