They capture the second alleged suspect involved in Chimaltenango

The investigation into the theft of jewelry valued at more than Q600 thousand In a business in Chimaltenango, a new development is recorded with the capture of a woman accused of having participated in the incident. With this arrest, the authorities count two alleged perpetrators captured for the case that occurred on April 29.

The National Civil Police (PNC) reported that investigators from the Specialized Criminal Investigation Division (DEIC) captured Flor “N”, 45 years oldin zone 1 of Chimaltenango. The arrest was made in compliance with an order issued by a court of that department for the crime of aggravated robbery.

The arrest is added to the capture of Henry, 34 years old and of Salvadoran nationalitywho was recently apprehended in zone 5, also accused of having participated in the theft of pieces of high economic value stolen from a jewelry store in Chimaltenango.

According to investigations, the amount of what was stolen exceeds Q600 thousandso the case is considered one of the most impactful property theft events recently recorded in the department. The proceedings have been carried out by DEIC agents in coordination with prosecutors from the Public Ministry (MP).

As part of the investigations, on June 1, the authorities carried out a raid on a property located in zone 1 of Chimaltenango, where they located evidence that strengthened the investigation and allowed progress in the identification of the suspects. The PNC indicated that investigations continue to establish if there are more people involved and determine the destination of the stolen jewelry.
