International media highlight that the filming of the third season of The Last of Us.
Internationally it was reported that the series had been canceled by HBO, but now it is clarified that this is an interruption that the producers had already planned.
“During the next few days, the surroundings of Vancouver (Canada) will be filled with thousands of fans from different teams who will go there to cheer on their teams. Therefore, it would be unfeasible to continue with the recording under these conditions,” says the MeriStation site.
The premiere of the third season of the series is still scheduled for 2027.

The production confirmed the third season. However, HBO has not reported what the official release date will be, although it is expected to arrive at the end of 2026 or beginning of 2027.
Additionally, it was reported that the new installment could focus solely on Abby’s point of view. That is, the next chapters could show what happens with Abby and the Wolves during the three days that pass since Ellie’s arrival in Seattle, before the fateful meeting.
Although the second season finale received mixed reviews, fans maintain expectations for the next installment of the series.
