On Friday, June 12, the last two opening shows of the 2026 World Cup took place in the United States and Canada, adding to the celebration that began in Mexico on Thursday, June 11. For the first time, three countries host this sporting competition.

In the United States, Lisa, Anitta, Rema, Future and Tyla participated in the opening ceremony, while Katy Perry introduced herself after the flags entered the field.

With the song “Wonder,” Perry celebrated the start of the world championship and did so with a guest Norwegian child. But who is the little one?

Hours before her presentation, Perry shared with her followers a story that explains the bond that unites her with Tius Luka.

Perry explained that the boy recorded a vocal part for the song “Wonder” in 2021, when he was five years old. He heard her voice in 2023 and it inspired him to write Wonder’s verse and add it to his sixth album.

She was so inspired that she decided to write the definitive version of the lyrics to include the song on her sixth studio album. “The little voice you hear is Tius,” the artist wrote on her Instagram account along with a video of the rehearsals carried out on the stadium field.

What does Wonder say?

The song is inspiring to a better world. Here part of the lyrics in English and Spanish.

One day when we are older
One day, when we’re older

Will we continue to look up in wonder?
Will we still look up in wonder?

One day when we are older
One day, when we’re older

Will we continue to look up in wonder?
Will we still look up in wonder?

Someday when we are wiser
Someday, when we’re wiser

Will our hearts still have that fire?
Will our hearts still have that fire?

Can someone promise me
Can someone promise me

Isn’t our innocence lost in this cynical world?
Our innocence doesn’t get lost in this cynical world?…
