The opportunity that every boxer dreams of is just a few hours away Maria Micheo. This Saturday, June 13, in Saskatoon, Canada, The Guatemalan boxer will have the most important event of her career when she competes for the interim world flyweight title (112 pounds) of the World Boxing Association (WBA) against the local Alexas Kubicki.
The fight, which is part of the Kopas Boxing Series card and will be the co-main event of the evening, represents much more than the possibility of winning a belt. For Micheo it is the opportunity to fulfill the dream that began when she was just a child and to once again place Guatemala’s name in the elite of international boxing.
The national boxer arrives backed by a preparation that, she assures, has her in the best moment of her sporting career. “I feel that I am living the best moment of my career and that all the work of years has led me to this opportunity,” he expressed with conviction before the fight.

“That fight allowed me to show that I can compete at the highest international level.” and it gave me a lot of confidence to face this new challenge,” said the Guatemalan boxer.

“My expectation is to leave with my hand raised and take that world belt to Guatemala. “I am ready to leave my heart above the ring,” she stated.
