Anti-narcotics agents of the National Civil Police (PNC) handed over this Thursday, June 18, Víctor Manuel Pérez Mazariegos, alias “El Hollywood”, to authorities of the Drug Control Administration (DEA, in English) of the United States, to face charges related to drug trafficking in that country.

According to the PNC, Pérez Mazariegos was transferred under strong security measures from the prison located in the Mariscal Zavala barracks to the Guatemalan Air Force, where he was placed in the custody of the US anti-narcotics authorities.

According to the arrest warrant, the Guatemalan is wanted by a United States court for the crimes of conspiracy to manufacture and distribute to that country five kilograms or more of a mixture or substance that contains a detectable amount of cocaine.

Authorities also identify him with the aliases “Pantera” and “Cholo Bota.”

The Ministry of the Interior indicated that Pérez Mazariegos is accused of alleged links with activities related to the transfer, storage and illicit trade of cocaine.

The PNC added that during the capture operation a vehicle with plates P-430LPJ was seized.
