He says he saw the “Antichrist”, causes an accident and tries to steal a medical helicopter in Florida

A man identified as Riley Ferrer crashed the truck he was driving into another vehicle on a highway in Florida, United States, because, he said, “he had seen the Antichrist.” He then tried to steal the medical helicopter that landed at the scene to transport the victims of the accident, according to international media.

The incident occurred after midnight last Friday on a stretch of the I-75 highway, in Hernando County, Florida.

The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that the vehicle driven by Ferrer left the road, hit another car and overturned in a wooded area.

The two people traveling in the second car suffered serious injuries, the police report details.

Due to the magnitude of the mishap, the Hernando Sheriff’s Office closed the northbound lanes to allow a medical transport helicopter to land. However, according to the agents’ story, while rescue and fire teams were preparing the two patients for air transport, Ferrer ran past emergency personnel and, according to the FHP, attempted to steal the aircraft.

Officers took Ferrer in a patrol car to Tampa General Hospital Brooksville for a medical evaluation. After being discharged, he was taken to the Hernando County Detention Center.

Ferrer faces three counts of resisting arrest without violence and one count of theft of an occupied vehicle. For this reason, bail was set at US$3,000 for the resistance charges, although he was detained without bail for the robbery charge.
