The Government of Guatemala, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minex), expressed its solidarity with the Venezuelan people after the 7.1 magnitude earthquake that caused damage in that country.
According to the Foreign Ministry, so far it has no reports of Guatemalans who have been affected and remains attentive to the development of the emergency in that country.
The provisional official balance after the earthquakes of Wednesday, June 24, of magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5, is 32 dead and 700 injured.
The president in charge of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, thanked this Thursday, June 25, the messages of “solidarity and support” sent by different world leaders, such as the president of the United States, Donald Trump, after the earthquakes on Wednesday.
“We appreciate this expression of solidarity towards Venezuela in such a complex stage, marked by the impact of the natural catastrophe that has affected several regions of the national territory,” he said.
Many countries, including Spain and China, have offered their help to Venezuela after the earthquakes.
Videos spread on social networks show the moment of the collapse of buildings and the chaos in the streets after the powerful earthquakes.
