The rain and the long lines did not stop the World Cup party in Mexico City.

Among thousands of fans a group of Guatemalans dressed as Chapulín Colorado and Chilindrina who attracted attention by proudly carrying the blue and white flag of Guatemala.

The group was made up of men dressed as the popular superhero created by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, while the women paid tribute to Chilindrina. Even two girls participated in the celebration.

Another fan explained that they chose those outfits because Chespirito is also part of Guatemalan popular culture and several generations grew up watching his programs.

The party was not limited to the stadium. Thousands of people followed the meeting from giant screens installed in different parts of Mexico City.
