The Departmental Municipal Firefighters of Santa Lucía Milpas Altas reported that this Friday, June 26, an accident occurred on the Las Cañas descent, at kilometer 37, in the sector known as the Los Pinitos turn.
They indicated that a truck overturned at the scene for reasons that are still unknown and suffered severe damage.
First responders took two men to a hospital. One person died at the scene due to multiple trauma.
Volunteer Firefighters reported that they transported four people to a nearby hospital.
They added that the deceased was identified as Julio César Moarataya Tobar, 48 years old.
The passage remains temporarily interrupted in one of the lanes.
