The characters of Despicable Me they return to the cinema with Minions & Monsters, Illumination’s new bet that will hit theaters in Guatemala next month.
After the success of Despicable Me 4in 2024, This new movie arrives starring the peculiar yellow characters in blue overalls: the Minions.
Under the title Minions & Monstersthe Illumination production presents a new story full of adventures, mischief and some scares, all in search of “achieving fame.”
“This is the wild, ridiculous and totally true story of how the Minions conquered Hollywood, They became movie stars, lost everything, unleashed monsters on the world, and then joined forces to try to save the planet from the chaos they themselves created.“says the synopsis that accompanies the trailer.
Minions & Monsters is directed by Pierre Coffin, Academy Award nominee and director of the first three films of Despicable Me and from the first Minions movie. The director has also voiced the Minions since their film debut in 2010.
The film was written by Brian Lynch (Minions, The secret life of your pets) and Pierre Coffin. It is produced by Chris Meledandri, founder and CEO of Illumination, also an Academy Award nominee, and Bill Ryan, executive producer of The Super Mario Bros. movie

The new Minions movie will have its world premiere on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Guatemalan cinemas now have tickets available for the preview screenings on Tuesday, June 30.
