The members of the Board of Directors of the Superintendence of Tax Administration (SAT) announced the list of the five professionals, who obtained the best notes (greater than 60 points) to occupy the position of Superintendent to cover the period of five years in the election process.
For this Friday of Dolores, the election by the Board of Directors will be held and on Holy Monday will take possession for the 2025-2030 period.
The elected superintendent will accompany the administration of President Bernardo Arévalo in the execution of fiscal policy, and will have to reach a Q108 thousand 737 million collection goal that will be allocated to finance the public budget.
The election process began on February 27 when the public call for professionals of the economic, legal and financial sciences to which 31 candidates participated. After a purification, 14 applicants remained in the next round and this Friday was chosen to the five finalists.
Then, in the hands of the Board of Directors that are made up of the Minister of Finance, Jonathan Menkos as president and the directors, Adriana Estévez Clavería and Julio Otoniel Roca Morales, will be the decision of the next tax collector.
The professional who is elected in the following hours will replace Marco Livio Díaz Reyes, who concludes his term on April 14. Diaz Reyes resigned from participating in this new process by arguing health reasons.
