Vehicle is destroyed after hitting a concrete post in zone 12

The Aguilar Batres road was the scene of a traffic accident that forced paramedics to use special equipment to rescue two men trapped inside a vehicle, according to the report from the Municipal Fire Department.

The rescuers were alerted by drivers of a “strong accident” which activated the response plan of the first responders, who upon arriving at 32nd street in zone 12 located a practically destroyed vehicle.

It was a gray sedan-type car that was wedged between a concrete post, while the drivers were trapped between the twisted irons of the vehicle.

With special equipment, paramedics managed to rescue two men who were identified as Darikson de León, 19 years old; and Rodman Díaz Mallorca, 21 years old.

De León had wounds in different parts of his body and was transferred in a delicate condition to the Roosevelt Hospital emergency room; while Díaz had a blow to the left shoulder, who was later referred to the same hospital.

Amílcar Montejo, director of Communication at Emetra, reported that agents from the Public Ministry (MP) arrived at the scene of the accident, which generated work by the investigating authorities that affected the passage of the Villa Nueva connection to Guatemala.

On his social networks, Montejo also reported that one of the young people involved in the accident died upon admission to the hospital. The causes of the accident are still unclear.

Other emergencies

The Volunteer Fire Department located an approximately 35-year-old man who died at kilometer 35, on the Lake Amatitlán bypass. The man reported cutting wounds in different parts of his body.

In the village of Los Pocitos, jurisdiction of Villa Canales, a deceased man, approximately 25 years old, was reported. The report indicates an armed attack in the area.

While in the village of Lo de Mejía, San Juan Sacatepequéz, another armed attack was reported that left a man dead, according to the report of the paramedics who were unable to identify the victim.
