The Colombian Nicolás “N”, 24 years old, was captured by agents from Police Station 42 of the National Civil Police (PNC) in zone 3 of San Marcos, the institution reported this Thursday, July 2.

According to the police report, the detainee was surprised when, under threats, he demanded payment of loan installments called “gota a gota.”

“This person, to avoid his arrest, tried to bribe the agents with Q1,300,” stated the PNC.

A similar case occurred in Huehuetenango in August 2025, when the PNC reported that an alleged “drop by drop” loan collector was captured at the bus terminal in zone 5 of the departmental capital.

The institution added that the arrest was made after the woman was denounced and detained by a group of people who accused her of offering and collecting loans under death threats.

After speaking with the complainants, the suspect was handed over to the agents, who immediately placed her at the disposal of a court.
