The Canarinha fans adapted the popular celebration of Norwegian fans and transformed it into a version inspired by the ‘Dança do Créu’ before the round of 16 duel.

The 2026 World Cup not only leaves stories on the field. On the streets of New Jersey, Brazilian fans began to viralize their own version of the popular “Viking rowing” choreography, one of the most striking celebrations of the tournament.

A few hours before the match between Brazil and Norway for the round of 16, hundreds of fans changed the traditional rowing movement for a choreography inspired by ‘Dança do Créu’, the Rio funk hit performed by MC Créu.

The adaptation maintains the collective movement characteristic of Norwegian fans, but incorporates the accelerated rhythm and sequence of speeds that made the Brazilian song famous in the late 2000s.

The proposal began to spread on social networks and around MetLife Stadium, where groups of Brazilian fans rehearsed the choreography as a way to accompany the festive atmosphere prior to the match.

The “Viking oar” became one of the most representative images of the 2026 World Cup. The celebration, promoted by Norwegian fans, has been repeated in stadiums, fan areas and even in the locker rooms of several teams during the tournament.

Now, the answer came from Brazil.

Members of the Movimento Verde Amarelo, one of the main organized groups of Brazilian fans, explained that the initiative seeks to respond with humor and creativity to the phenomenon generated by the Norwegian fans, maintaining the festive atmosphere that characterizes the World Cup.

Between flags, samba and references to the Brazilian carnival, the new choreography is emerging as one of the curious images in the preview of the duel between two teams that will seek a place in the quarterfinals of the World Cup.
