The National Symphony Orchestra of Guatemala (OSN) announced its VI Official Season Concert, this time with a special reason: the celebration of its 82 years of foundation.
Under the title “Anniversaries: 82nd anniversary of the OSN of Guatemala”, the concert will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 7 p.m., in the “Efraín Recinos” Great Hall, of the Miguel Ángel Asturias Cultural Center, 24 calle 3-81, zone 1 of Guatemala City.
“Enjoy a program that unites the strength of Antonín Dvořák’s Romanticism with the impressionist magic of Maurice Ravel, under the direction of guest teacher Vicente Ariño, from Spain,” he published on his social networks.
The presentation will include a special surprise, as the Orchestra will perform for the first time in the country the Symphony No. 1, The Zlonice Bell, by Dvořák, a piece that the institution describes as “a monumental work that remained lost for decades.”
Tickets are available at the offices of the National Symphony Orchestra, 3rd avenue 4-61, zone 1, on 5th street, at Q70, Q100 and Q150, depending on the location.
According to the history of the National Symphony Orchestra, in its beginnings it was known as the Progressive Orchestra, until On July 11, 1944, through Official Letter 9313 of the Secretary of War, it was officially renamed the National Symphony Orchestra.
Forty-seven years later, In 1991, it was declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation through Decree 80-91 of the Congress of the Republic and, in 2024, he received the Order of the Quetzal, awarded by the President of the Republic.
