Amílcar Montejo, road spokesman for the Municipal Traffic Police, warned about false information that states that there are blockades in at least 14 points in the capital.
Montejo added that this July 21 only Demonstrations are recorded on the Atanasio Tzul road, between 32nd and 33rd streets in zone 12.
The passage interrupted by a demonstration on 42nd Street on Petapa Avenue is also reported.
“On the Roosevelt Causeway, those who were blocking have withdrawn. There it is now free,” added Montejo, after a demonstration was registered due to the increase in fuel prices.
“False information is circulating about other blockades in the capital. It is negative; at least at this time, there are no more demonstrations that affect traffic,” he remarked.
Leaders of the demonstrations have expressed their dissatisfaction with the increase in the price of a gallon of fuel, derived from the conflict in the Middle East.
In Guatemala, prices registered a reduction for three months, derived from the subsidy granted by the Government; However, this ended and prices reflect a new rise.

Municipality expands details
“We want to inform you that the image currently circulating on social networks does not correspond to a recent event. It is a publication from 2023 that is being shared again out of context,” the commune indicated.
“We thank those who have contributed to clarifying that this information is false and we call for information only through our official channels, avoiding sharing publications that may generate misinformation or unnecessary alarm,” he added.
The municipality added: “We invite the accounts that are spreading this publication to act responsibly and refrain from sharing false or out-of-context information, since this only generates unnecessary concern among neighbors.”
At 11:20 a.m., July 21, 2026, there is only a demonstration on Atanasio Tzul Road 42, Zona 12 Street.
On the Roosevelt Causeway, those who blocked it have withdrawn. He is already free there.
