The case is related to the investigation into the operations international financial institutions of the AFA that Prensa Libre and EFE announced on July 8focused on contracts managed through TourProdEnter LLC in the United States.

The entity rejected journalistic versions that stated that its president, Claudio “Chiqui” Tapia, and other directors were summoned to testify or that electronic devices were seized from them.

The Southern District Court of the state of Florida requested information about the company TourProdEnter LLC, allegedly hired by the AFA as a commercial agent outside Argentina.

At the same time, Argentine courts are investigating Tapia, treasurer Pablo Toviggino and other directors for alleged diversion of funds.

Argentine media, such as Infobae and Clarionreported this Wednesday that the FBI had seized cell phones and other electronic devices from several AFA executives before the Argentine national team delegation began its return from New York, after the 2026 World Cup final played on Sunday. They also pointed out that the US Justice required them to appear on July 30.

However, Gregorio Dalbón, AFA lawyer, sent EFE an official statement from the entity in which he denies these versions and affirms that the judicial injunction is not directed against Tapia or other leaders.

“It is absolutely false to affirm that Claudio Tapia or Pablo Toviggino have been summoned to testify by the United States Justice, just as it is also false to maintain that cell phones or any other electronic device have been seized from them,” said the AFA.

The entity added that the court order is limited to requesting information about TourProdEnter LLC and urged the media to verify the content of the documents before publishing information.

“The Argentine Football Association urges the media and those who carry out journalistic activity to adequately verify the content of the documents before publishing statements that do not find support in them, remembering that informative rigor constitutes an essential duty of responsible journalism,” the statement indicated.

Weeks before the start of the World Cup, the newspaper Miami Herald published that, after reviewing banking and commercial records in the United States, some 40 million dollars from AFA income had been transferred through TourProdEnter to companies without an apparent commercial justification.

According to that medium, part of these resources would have been used to acquire four properties in South Florida between 2021 and 2025. Researchers analyzed whether these operations could constitute money laundering or fraud through the US banking system. They also examined other possible uses of the funds, including the leasing of luxury jets and yachts, motorsports companies and a company dedicated to services for thoroughbred horses.

In the investigation that is taking place in Argentina, TourProdEnter LLC – linked to theater producer Javier Faroni – would have acted as the international commercial agent of the AFA, with exclusive representation outside the country to manage sponsorship agreements and events, in addition to intervening in the collection of contracts abroad.

For these services he received a commission of 30% of the income generated and another 10% for logistical tasks.

The Argentine Justice is also trying to establish whether resources from these contracts were linked to the purchase of a property in Pilar, valued at about 17 million dollars. The property is listed in the name of third parties and there are suspicions that it had been acquired through intermediaries by Toviggino.
