On April 8, the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) confirmed the Dismissal by Mónica Gabriela Cueto López as an interim director of the Road Conservation Executing Unit (COVIAL).

This Monday, April 14, the CIV Minister Miguel Ángel Díaz Bobadilla, expanded details of the subject during a press conference at the National Palace.

In his virtual speech, the official indicated that Cueto López was dismissed for being “directly responsible in the delay of the increase in events for maintenance -vial-”.

“A complaint was already raised before the Public Ministry because the crime of breach of duties is typified for her; this complaint was filed on Thursday of last week,” said Díaz Bobadilla.

When asked if there is any political interest from the former official to have delayed the events, the minister replied that this extreme is not responsible for affirming it and that any other aspect will be determined by the corresponding authority.

On October 17, the CIV appointed Cueto López as interim director of Covial.
