A life of dedication and love for his work

In 1970, Nery López joined Prensa Libre at the age of 20, in the maintenance area. Years later, he dedicated himself to preparing packages for the print edition and then became a subscription supervisor. He also works as a sector worker, so he starts his day every day at 3 in the morning and, together with an assistant, delivers packages of newspapers to the announcers.

Transcendence

López’s greatest motivation is his wife and children, and he highlights that the morning newspaper has contributed to his development over 56 years. “Prensa Libre, for me, is the best, and I have great affection for it. Thanks to the medium I got married and my children are professionals,” says the collaborator.

“I have been working for Prensa Libre for a lifetime. God has given me the opportunity to be here. I am happy seeing and reading the edition
every day”.

The 70-year-old sectorist remembers that he met and worked alongside the founders of this publishing house: Álvaro Contreras, Isidoro Zarco, Salvador Girón, Mario Sandoval and Pedro Julio García, with whom he spent the difficult time of the 1976 earthquake and had lifelong lessons, including Catholicism and instilling the love of God in his family.

He highlights that Prensa Libre is a prestigious newspaper in Central America due to the credibility of the information it publishes and he feels proud to belong to it and contribute with his work at all times.
