Guatemala City will be filled with rhythm, color and joy during the second Conviteros Meetingin which various groups in the country will celebrate this intangible cultural heritage.

Unlike the 2025 edition, this year the Encuentro will have two parades as part of the event, which seeks to pay tribute to the cultural wealth of Guatemala through dance and music.

For this edition, the Ministry of Culture and Sports (MCD) seeks to attract more than four thousand participants from various groups, including traditional treats, botargas, warriors and Mayan clothing, which will show the richness of the culture and traditions of its different municipalities.

This festival pays tribute to the committees, groups and party dancers from all over the country, since, according to the MCD, it seeks to “preserve the intangible cultural heritage and make visible the contribution that these groups make to the historical memory and identity of their municipalities.”

This edition will be held under the motto “Where there is a treat, there is a living history of the people”, so the participation of representatives from the 22 departments is expected, in an event that will bring together not only consolidated committees, but also emerging groups.

As part of the invitation, the portfolio highlights that “the streets of the capital city await the color of their costumes, the sound of their bands and the mysticism of their masks.” The event will arrive on September 27 at 8 am.
