After the capture of the extraditable Steven “L”, 29, aka “Chipi”, during an anti -narcotics operation in Río Hondo, Zacapa, the Public Ministry revealed details about the role that the alleged drug trafficker had in the Lorenzana clan.
According to the MP, “Chipi” is required by the United States because it was in charge of coordinating and ensuring cocaine cargoes through aircraft, participating and coordinating the collection and distribution of thousands of kilograms of that drug, as well as operations to transport it from Guatemala to several criminal organizations in Mexico.

He adds that he is also charged with the use of a firearm during and in relation to a drug trafficking crime, as well as the possession of a firearm to promote that illicit.
An investigation by the authorities identified a large -scale drug trafficking organization based on Guatemala, known as the Lorenzana drug trafficking organization. This was responsible for transporting and distributing multiple tons of cocaine from Venezuela, Colombia, Guatemala, Honduras and other places, with knowledge, intention or reasonable cause to believe that cocaine would be illegally imported to the United States.
In addition, it is indicated that the organization also transported and distributed large amounts of heroin, with knowledge, intention and reasonable cause to believe that such substance would be illegally imported to the United States. He used heavily armed men, with several firearms, machine guns and destructive devices, such as grenades.
