Esperanza Hospital with a healthy health service, in a human and efficient way, launches the call for the first edition of the Esperanza award, an initiative that aims to recognize organizations and people that promote significant improvements and that contribute to the strengthening of Guatemala’s health services.

Entity contest is aimed at foundations and associations that make an outstanding contribution in the provision of health and social care, well -being education and scientific research in Medical Sciences in Guatemala. The Esperanza award not only grants public recognition, but also an economic award, which must be assigned exclusively to the development of the project presented within Guatemala.
“The Esperanza award represents the commitment to the welfare and health of the Guatemalans. We are strengthening and enhancing initiatives that generate a positive impact, collaborating with organizations that share our vision of transforming the future of health into Guatemala,” said Guillermo Monroy Herrera, president of Hospital Esperanza.
The deadline for presenting the projects is May 26, 2025. To participate they can do so in attending.com/prod/it must be an institution formally constituted in Guatemala. The applications will be evaluated according to relevance and alignment with the objectives of the award, technical and financial viability of the project, impact depending on quality, beneficiaries and sustainability, and originality, innovation and effectiveness in solving health problems.
Participation categories
1. Health Services: Projects focused on improving access and quality of medical and social care
2. Health and well -being education: initiatives that promote training and knowledge in health and quality of life matters
3. Research in Medical Sciences: Innovative proposals that contribute to the development of medical and scientific knowledge in the country.

Esperanza Hospital founded in 1992 by Dr. Rodolfo Herrera Llerandi, was born with the mission of providing access to high quality health services in Guatemala and Central America. In addition, he works to be recognized for his leadership in the different services they offer, their academic excellence and their firm commitment to improving health services for Guatemalans.
Its founder, Dr. Herrera Llerandi was a distinguished doctor whose legacy transformed public health in the country. He studied Medicine at Harvard University, in the United States, and his return, promoted by his commitment to health, established the first thorax clinic in Guatemala.
