Associated with the approach of a cold front to the north of the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico, for this weekend of May 10 and 11, an increase in the rains and presence of mist during the early morning and the night, mainly in regions of the north to the center of the country, is forecast.
The Bulletin shared by the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED) details that in the central region there will be partially cloudy sky in the morning, although during the afternoon and night rains accompanied by electrical activity could be recorded, and the wind will vary with light to moderate intensity.
In areas of the North, Alta Verapaz, the Caribbean and the Northern Transversal Strip, moderate to strong rains are foreseen during the afternoon and night, also accompanied by electrical activity.
These climatic conditions will also be presented in the valleys of the East and the Motagua region, where the sky will remain partially cloudy during the day, with rains scattered in the afternoon and night.
In the Pacific region there will be a warm and humid atmosphere, with little cloudiness in the early hours of the day. Rains with electrical activity are not ruled out, and the wind will predominate between light and moderate.
These conditions could favor the presence of strong winds and even the possible hail fall.
The Conred recommends that the population follow the indications of local authorities, prepare the backpack of 72 hours and identify safe and risk areas in their communities.
