Subject arrested in Chiquimula is pointed out of having shot a PNC agent in Zacapa.

Luis Alberto Paz López, 27, aka “El Gordo Paz”, said Homicide, was captured at the El Florido border, Camotán, Chiquimula, on the border with Honduras, the National Civil Police (PNC) reported this Friday, February 28 (PNC).
According to the PNC, detectives of the Division Specialized in Criminal Investigation (DEIC) that followed up an investigation for cases of violent deaths avoided that “the fat peace” escape to Honduras.
They added that Paz López had two capture orders in force for the crime of homicide.
He points out that the first is October 9, 2023 and the second of October 19 of the same year, both turned by Courts of Zacapa.
“Allegedly Gordo Paz is responsible for an armed attack that occurred on October 17, 2023 at kilometer 134, crossing to Río Hondo, Zacapa, where a PNC agent lost his life, who was on service in the operational area of Police Station 24,” the PNC refers to its social networks.
He adds that this armed attack happened after the policeman with his partner descends from a highway to identify peace, but he shoots against the uniformed.
“The police had information that Gordo Paz should be behind bars for being the alleged person responsible for having shot a 26 -year -old man, when he was traveling as a passenger of a motorcycle taxi, which occurred on October 8, 2023 in the La Ciénaga neighborhood, Gualán, Zacapa, derived from a passion crime,” the authorities say.
In addition, the PNC investigates the possible participation of peace in other events that occurred in the region.
