Tax revenues increased 8.2% in the first bimester of the year compared to the same 2024 period and the collection reached Q17 thousand 358 million, the Superintendence of Tax Administration (SAT) reported.

Preliminary data indicate that the execution reached 101.8% and is above the goal scheduled for this fiscal year for Q298 million.

In the first bimester, internal taxes maintain a positive variation of 9.1% and taxes on foreign trade of 6.2%, explained Érick Echeverria Mazariegos, mayor of collection.

The statistics indicate that in the first two -month period the Income Tax (ISR) grew 12% and the Value Added Tax (VAT) 7.6%, which are the main taxes that support the public budget.

“They are positive variations; In the case of VAT, it is in tune with the projections of economic activity for the year and we must give it the respective monitoring in the first quarter and closing of the semester, ”said the mayor.

VAT is the one that records consumption in the economy, and during the first two -month period the entry of foreign exchange through family remittances is placed at US $ 3,638 million, which meant a growth rate of 21.5%, therefore there is a statistical relationship between transfers and consumption.

For taxes on foreign trade, the mayor, commented that with the result in the first bimester “there is signs of less dynamism with respect to what had been observed regarding the expectations of tariff policies and the foreign policy movement,” said the SAT official.

In the recent session of the members of the Technical Commission of Public Finance (FTFP), it was reiterated that the estimate of collection is Q108 thousand 737.5 million by 2025, and of which for internal taxes is Q73 thousand 523 million and for foreign trade Q32 thousand 790 million.
