Matchday 21 of the Clausura 2026 Tournament left a table with everything to be defined at the top and several teams that see their qualification options closed in the absence of a date for the closing of the contest.
Xelajú MC and Mixco lead tied with 36 points each, but the Superchivos remain in first place due to the best goal difference with +14 compared to the +7 of the Chicharroneros, in what is shaping up to be a definition of the table title until the last minute of the last day.
Municipal and Comunicaciones follow closely with 35 points each in third and fourth place respectively, which means that any of the four teams can be crowned Clausura 2026 champions on the last day. Comunicaciones reached that position after beating Guastatoya 1-0 with a goal from Omar Duarte, a result that also mathematically confirmed the Cremas’ permanence in the National League. Antigua GFC is fifth with 33 points and Cobán sixth with 32.
In the lower part of the table the panorama is clear. Mictlán has 26 points in ninth position, while Malacateco and Aurora share tenth and eleventh place with 19 points each and Achuapa closes with 18. Aurora, Malacateco and Achuapa are mathematically eliminated from any option to qualify for the next phase, closing the tournament without qualifying objectives at stake.
Everything is defined on the last day
With four teams separated by just one point in the fight for the title, the final day of Clausura 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting in the recent history of Guatemalan soccer.
