In its sixth edition, San Juan del Obispo opens its doors to the public to celebrate the Pepián Festival 2026, an event in which local gastronomy will stand out, and one of the most representative traditional dishes of the country will be the center of the celebration.

Between aromas, generational recipes and unique flavors, chefs from San Juan del Obispo will offer more than 20 local pepián recipes. In addition, each of the cooks will have another traditional dish.

Daniel Machán, one of the organizers, highlighted that visitors will be able to find other typical dishes such as gallo en chicha, piloyada antigüeña, tamales, tostadas and atoles, among others.

As part of the celebration, the festival will feature music to the rhythm of the Maderas Chapinas marimba, as well as special presentations such as the violin quintet and the orchestra of the Municipality of Antigua Guatemala, Machán highlighted.

San Juan del Obispo will also offer its visitors the sale of handicrafts, products derived from the loquat and typical gastronomy. Likewise, it will have transfers from Antigua Guatemala to the village.
