The night of Thursday, April 23 was held in Miami, USA, the fourth edition of the Billboard Latin Women in Music event and highlighted several artists who have left their mark on the music scene.
During a two-hour musical special, Billboard celebrated the careers of Latin artists who have promoted positive changes and defended inclusion in the music industry.
The Mexican singer Gloria Trevi was one of the stars that captured the attention of crowds because she was honored with the Artistic Career Award.
According to Billboard, this recognition for Trevi comes after last February 28, the performer made history with Live Celebrationa concert filled to capacity at the BMO Stadium from Los Angeles, USA, in which he celebrated his career of almost four decades and paid tribute to Mexican culture.
During the evening of the fourth edition of the Billboard Latina Women in Music event, the Mexican singer offered a speech in which she highlighted love.
“Thank you. What emotion. I am very happy, very excited and grateful. First of all, I want to thank God, the one who has given me everything, family to fight with. An applause for the mere mere,” she said.
“He has given me family to fight, he has given me friends, who with actions have made me feel that I am not alone in these times that are so strange, times of misinformation, times that promote hatred, that promote wars, separation, division,” she added.
“Our responsibility is to instill love, but you see, people give their opinions, debate, mock and fight. And in the end they feel a hole of hopelessness, because having negative feelings, criticizing and hating does more harm to the person who feels it than to the person who receives them. Don’t fall into that trap. Wish the best for others. Let’s fill ourselves with good vibes… Remember, a smile can change and can save a life. I love you. Thank you,” Trevi concluded. According to Billboard, in recent years Trevi has remained one of the highest-grossing Latin artists in the world. Furthermore, in 2024, Pollstar highlighted that the Mexican singer was among the women with the most concert tickets sold globally.
