The Municipal Traffic Police (PMT) recommends drivers use alternative routes due to road closures scheduled by the night 10K racewhich will take place on Saturday, April 25 in the capital.
Amílcar Montejo, Director of Communication at Emetra, reported that the vehicle closures will begin at 4:00 p.m. on 7th. avenue, from route 6 in zone 4 to 21 street in zone 1.
The event will start at 7:00 p.m., so from 6:00 p.m. the restrictions on the 6th will be extended. and 7a. avenues in zones 1 and 4, as well as in the section of 7a. avenue and Reforma avenue, zone 9. The route will cover from the National Palace of Culture to Plaza España, passing through the Civic Center.
The authorities reported that more than 300 PMT agents will be deployed to regulate traffic in the area and on the perimeter roads.
In this situation, the PMT recommends using alternative routes such as Elena Avenue, Bolívar Avenue, Cementerio Avenue, José Milla and Vidaurre Roads and Martí Street, La Asunción Boulevard and the Periférico.
For those traveling in the Historic Center towards the north, in the direction of Martí Street, it is suggested to use the 5th, 7th, 9th. and 11a. avenues. Meanwhile, drivers heading south can opt for 2nd, 4th, 10th. and 12a. avenues.
The use of Liberación Boulevard is also recommended to move between zones 9, 10, 8, 11, 12, as well as sectors of zones 3 and 7. The authorities indicated that there will be coordination with relief bodies and the National Civil Police to attend to emergencies during the activity, which is expected to end around 9:00 p.m.
