“I am very happy to be in Guatemala, it is the first time I have come, I have only been there for a few hours and I am very excited to get to know the country, its people and to present the musical to them,” said Cordero.
Regarding his interpretation of Yuri, he emphasized that he highlights humor, performs some of his songs, but does not imitate the singer.
“It is important that Lies, the musical It has characters called Yuri, Lupita, Dulce and Daniela, in honor of these great divas of the 1980s, but we are not personifying them“, said.
“They are named in honor of them, but my character sings songs by Yuri, also by Lupita D’Alessio, Amanda Miguel, Ana Gabriel, and other great artists of that decade,” he added.
For Lamb, Lies, the musical has stood out for more than 17 years due to the constant renewal of the cast and the dynamism with which it is presented on stage.
“I think that the music of the eighties in Spanish is so powerful that it resonates so much in the collective imagination of the towns, the cities, both in Mexico and Latin America and that makes it a very powerful combination and the work is always fresh,” he commented.
“There are actors who come in, actors who leave, there are infinite combinations of casts, so you will never see the same cast or it will rarely happen because we change a lot, we rotate and that also makes it a very fresh work and one that remains popular with the public over the years,” he added.
