A video captured the moment when a man was seriously injured during an armed attack, which occurred after a road dispute in Santo Domingo Los Ocotes, San Antonio La Paz, El Progreso.
The images show how the victim gets out of his truck and argues with the occupants of a truck, whom he threatens with a gun. Seconds later, he returns to his vehicle, but is attacked by gunfire from inside another car. After the attack, the pilot retreats to escape while family members try to help the injured man.
Departmental Municipal Firefighters were alerted and coordinated to meet a private vehicle that was transporting the affected person to a care center.
The victim was identified as Lubin Cruz, 35 years old, originally from the same community. He had multiple gunshot wounds to his back, skull and chest.
First responders took him in an agonizing state to the San Juan de Dios General Hospital; However, he died shortly after admission, due to the severity of his injuries.
Relatives indicated that the incident occurred on the main street of the community. Authorities have not reported any arrests related to the attack.
