The bundled bodies of four men were located this Wednesday, May 6, in a wooded area near the San Miguel Dueñas garbage dump, Sacatepéquez, the Departmental Municipal Firefighters reported.
The discovery occurred on a dirt road that connects the central area of San Miguel Dueñas with the village of El Rosario. It is known that the bodies were tied hand and foot and were possibly strangled.
According to estimates by lifeguards, the victims would have been murdered about eight days ago, since the bodies are in an advanced state of decomposition.
Cecilio Chacaj, spokesperson for the Departmental Municipal Firefighters, confirmed that there are four bodies: two were located near the garbage dump and the others, about 150 meters away.
The bodies were discovered by people who frequent the road, who were alerted by the foul odors resulting from the decomposition of the corpses.
They added that they are four men, whose ages are difficult to establish due to the condition in which the bodies are found.
