The final of World Cup 2026 will feature, for the first time, a halftime show and, as FIFA announced, will have the participation of Shakira, Madonna and BTS next Sunday, July 19, 2026.
In honor of the most important sporting event in the world, The show will combine American pop culture, Latin and South Korean rhythms performed by renowned artists.
Chris Martin, vocalist and co-founder of the British band Coldplaywas in charge of choosing the musical stars of the show, through the charity production company Global Citizen.
Shakira has stood out in these sporting events, to which she has contributed music, rhythm and creativity. The Colombian singer is the author of Dai Daithe song of the 2026 World Cupas well as Waka Wakathe anthem of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
Although FIFA has not yet confirmed the details, The incorporation of a halftime show, typical of American sports, will make the final break last longer than the regulation 15 minutesas occurred during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.
The break featured J Balvin, rapper Doja Cat and Nigerian singer Tems, and It lasted up to 25 minutes on the same stage that will host the World Cup final: MetLife Stadium, in New Jersey.
Recently, the FIFA also announced the artists who will perform at the three opening ceremonies in each of the host countries.
