The Capella Cantorum choir, a group with 27 years of experience, will present the work Lux Aeternaby Morten Lauridsen, under the direction of maestro Carlos Salazar. This series of concerts will mark the premiere in Guatemala of this important work of the contemporary choral repertoire.
The concerts are scheduled in three different spaces. The first will be in Miraflores Museum, where a tour of the museum will be offered and then the concert will take place.
The group will also perform at the National Palace of Culture and the San Pedro Nolasco church, in Ciudad San Cristóbal, zone 8 of Mixco.
Classic FM describes Lux Aeternaby Morten Lauridsen, like a calm and light-filled requiem. After its premiere, a critic of The Times He called it “a classic of new American choral composition” and stated that “the structures of the old world and the spirit of the new are intertwined in an artfully written score, at once sensual and austere.”
