The Greatest Gain is a work that is born from Bocache’s personal experience, and from years accompanying people and organizations in the search for a healthier and more conscious relationship with money, work and life purpose.

Throughout eight chapters, topics that transcend any creed or ideology are addressed: financial anxiety, the desire to accumulate, the illusion that money will solve the most important problems and the difference between building material wealth and building a life with purpose.

“In What Money Can’t Buy (one of the most shocking chapters), situations are narrated that any reader will recognize: successful businessmen who cannot regain the trust of a child, wealthy families who would give their entire fortune to recover a loved one, people who achieved everything financially and reached the top to discover that they were empty. Success without purpose is a luxurious prison,” Bocache commented.

The author began working in advertising at the age of 17, achieved financial independence at an early age and learned (sometimes the most painful way) that there are things that no financial resources can buy.

The book also offers an honest x-ray of the phenomenon that the author calls “financial anxiety”: that constant anxiety that keeps you from sleeping, the weight on your chest when thinking about the future, the voice that repeats “what if it’s not enough?” Bocache maintains that hustling is not just a problem of attitude, but a direct consequence of having placed security and personal value in the wrong places.

In another of his most revealing chapters, the author examines the trap of greed: that human tendency (universal, regardless of economic condition) to accumulate for fear that things will run out.

“Greed is not only a problem of those who have little, but especially of those who have a lot,” says Bocache, citing specific cases ranging from the businessman who betrays his partner to the person who compulsively checks his bank account.
