According to the police report, Pérez Sunún would be one of the alleged perpetrators of the death of two women that occurred in the early hours of Sunday, May 31, at kilometer 13.5 of the route to the Atlantic.
One of the victims was the niece of Helver Beltetón, former deputy director of the National Civil Police (PNC). He was 17 years old. The other, a family friend, was 25 years old.
The judge on duty decided to send the suspect to the Preventive for Men in zone 18; However, the detainee indicated that he was linked to the Mara Salvatrucha, so he was transferred to the annex of the Pavoncito prison.
Preliminary investigations indicated that two vehicles approached the pick-up truck in which the victims were traveling and that armed men opened fire. The bodyguards returned fire, but the bullets hit those traveling in the back seat.
