The second stage of the Portuguese José Mourinho in charge of the Real Madrid bench will begin imminently, with his arrival in the Spanish capital in the next few hours to get to work and start the new design of the white first team.
The first great electoral promise of Florentino Pérez, who in Sunday’s elections was re-elected as president of the club for the next four years – after surpassing his opponent, Enrique Riquelme -, returns to the management of the team that he already directed between 2010 and 2013 to replace Alvaro Arbeloa.
His mission will be to return the team to the right course after two years of disappointments.
Mourinho, who did not achieve the dream of winning the Champions League with Real Madrid -who had already won with Porto and Inter Milan when he arrived in Spain-, achieved a League, a Copa del Rey and a Spanish Super Cup in his first stage as white coach.
Although the hiring has not yet been officially announced – the Real Madrid must pay Benfica the 15 million euros (about 17 million dollars) of termination clause for his signing – Mourinho’s arrival is scheduled for this Tuesday and the moment in which the Setúbal coach is presented by the Madrid entity is being awaited with utmost attention.
Confirmed during the electoral process the future additions of the Dutchman Denzel Dumfries and the Frenchman Ibrahima Konate and a ‘galactic’ offer of 150 million (about 174 million dollars) announced by the president, Mourinho has intense work ahead of him both in terms of making the squad and preseason planning and closing friendlies.
