judge accepts evidence against Carlos Ovidio Acevedo and sets a trial date

The second criminal judge, Maximino Morales, in a hearing this Tuesday, June 9, accepted all the evidence that will be processed in the trial against Carlos Ovidio Acevedo, accused of attempted homicide.

The judge resolved that the debate will be in charge of the Ninth Criminal Sentencing Court and scheduled its start for next July 23.

Acevedo will face justice for having repeatedly run over Larkin Morales, who was driving a motorcycle, in an event that occurred in September 2025 in zone 9 of the capital.

Video surveillance cameras documented the moment the vehicle driven by Acevedo ran over Morales when he was stopped in front of a red light.

During the intermediate stage hearing, the defense attorney requested that the accusation be modified to a less serious crime and that his client be transferred from zone 18 pretrial detention to the Mariscal Zavala prison, but the judge determined that there were no circumstances that motivated the transfer or the change of crime.
