The Majadas Forum, in zone 11 of Guatemala City, will be the meeting space between national and international authors and reading lovers during the Guatemala International Book Fair (Filgua) 2026. This year, under the motto “Let’s go for a country of readers”, it will offer more than 650 activities for the whole family.

During the announcement of the Guatemala International Book Fairthe organizers detailed that in this edition the sale of tickets will be made through online purchase, which will allow the public to carry out the process in a more accessible way and purchase tickets in advance.

With guest authors such as Adolfo Méndez Vides, Jay Sandoval and Francisco Pérez de Antón, this edition of Filgua will be held from July 7 to 19. In addition, Germany will be the guest country, which will present more than 140 activities.

As announced by the German ambassador, Hardy Boeckle, the activities include The reading hairdresseran immersive journey through Germany using virtual reality glasses, and the broadcast of matches from the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The fair, which has become a meeting point for literature, thought and cultural exchange, will feature presentations by writers, sessions with reading clubs, storytelling, theme nights and activities for reading fans.

Those who wish to attend can purchase their tickets through E-ticket starting this June 9, on its web portal. The entry cost will be Q5 per person.

According to the organizers, children under 12 years of age will be able to enter for free, as will students with a card and older adults.

The platform in charge of ticket sales highlights that only one ticket can be used per day. However, these will not be dated, so the public will be able to decide which day to attend and how many tickets to purchase.

“You can go between July 7 and 19 without preselection of the day. Once you enter the fair, the ticket is considered used,” highlights E-ticket on its portal.

During this edition, the hours of the 13 days will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The exception will be on Friday, July 17, when the Night of the Books is celebrated and the hours extend until midnight.
