Later, at 7:00 p.m. in Guatemala, in Group D, the United States hosts Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
The American team is competing in its twelfth World Cup. His best historical performance was third place in the 1930 edition.
In recent decades it has maintained a constant presence in the tournament and has frequently reached the knockout stages.
Paraguay faces its tenth World Cup participation and will seek to start the tournament with a positive result.
Group B is completed by the teams from Qatar and Switzerland. Australia and Türkiye also compete in Group D.
